Signs Your Heating System May Need a Power Flush
Sludge, rust and debris build up in most heating systems over time. These are the common signs, but other faults can cause similar symptoms, so we check your system before recommending a power flush.
Radiators Cold at the Bottom
Warm at the top but cold at the bottom usually means sludge has settled inside the radiator and is blocking the flow of hot water.
Some Radiators Heat Slowly
Radiators that take much longer to warm up than others can point to blocked pipework or valves, though balancing problems can cause this too.
Noisy Heating System
Banging, gurgling or a kettling sound from the boiler can be caused by sludge or scale restricting flow through the heat exchanger.
Black or Rusty Water

What Is Power Flushing?
Power flushing is a deep clean of your central heating system. A power flushing machine is connected to the system and pumps water and cleaning chemicals through the pipework and radiators at high flow, loosening and removing sludge, rust and debris.
We use a Kamco power flushing machine, an Adey MagnaCleanse to capture magnetic sludge, and a vibration tool to loosen deposits inside radiators. Once the water runs clearer, the system is refilled and protected with corrosion inhibitor.
Power flushing isn't needed for every system. Some problems are caused by faulty valves, pumps or balancing instead, so we check your system first and tell you honestly if a flush is the right fix.

Up to 10 radiators, ideal for heavier sludge. Each radiator is flushed on its own with a vibration tool, and an Adey MagnaCleanse captures magnetic sludge.
Final Checks & Advice
Afterwards we check every radiator heats properly, rebalance where needed, and explain anything else we found.
Chemicals & Inhibitor Included
Cleaning chemicals and corrosion inhibitor are included in both options. The system is refilled and protected once the water runs clearer.
Magnetic Filter (Optional)
If your system doesn't already have a magnetic filter, we can fit one to keep catching sludge after the flush, priced on your quote.
